Former Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy reportedly heading for I’m A Celebrity jungle
Former Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy is the latest name to be linked with a spot on this year’s I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here.
According to SuffolkNews’ media partners TWTD, McCarthy could be heading to Australia for the show’s 24th season joining other rumoured contestants such as Phillip Schofield, X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos and Richard Gadd from Baby Reindeer.
While none of these names have been officially confirmed, McCarthy’s potential appearance would mark the third time a figure associated with Ipswich Town has entered the jungle — following in the footsteps of ex-Town players Jimmy Bullard and Ipswich-born Kieron Dyer, who also represented England at international level.
The 65-year-old, who managed Ipswich Town from 2012 to 2018, is currently without a club, having parted ways with Blackpool in April last year.
In previous years of the show, other celebs with ties to Suffolk have appeared Down Under including Matt Hancock and Ruthie Henshall.
