MAD-HR celebrates 10th birthday at Milsoms Kesgrave Hall with Sally Gunnell-fronted event that raised £6,500 for Inspire Suffolk
A HR firm celebrated its 10th birthday by raising £6,500 for charity with an event fronted by an Olympic champion.
MAD-HR staged the event at Milsoms Kesgrave Hall to mark a decade since founder Carole Burman launched the business from her kitchen table.
Barcelona 1992 gold-medalist Sally Gunnell gave a keynote speech, sharing the story of her sporting triumphs, to around 180 Suffolk business leaders.
Terry Baxter, CEO of Inspire Suffolk, the charity which benefitted from the event, addressed the crowd and explained how the fund raising event would help the charity in its work with young people.
Ms Burman, who now leads MAD-HR alongside Charlotte Bate, said: “It was always my intention that we would seek to celebrate our 10th anniversary with the Suffolk community.
“Adding a fundraising element felt really important to my team, as we are all keen supporters of various causes throughout the county.
“We are so incredibly proud that, with Terry Baxter in attendance, we were able to confirm we had raised an incredible sum of £6,500.”
Of Ms Gunnell’s speech, she said: “At every interaction with us, and in how she delivered her message of courage and self-belief to our audience, Sally was a superb choice for our event.”
MAD-HR has offices and staff throughout the East of England.
It supports a wide range of businesses and charities.
Ms Gunnell runs her own business and will also be working for Team GB during Paris 2024.
She said: “I am very pleased to have been able to speak to so many of Suffolk’s business leaders, entrepreneurs and aspirational individuals at the MAD-HR event.
“It was a really enjoyable occasion and I hope that I was able to inspire a few people to reach beyond their comfort zone and find out what their true potential might be.”
